| 2008 Region Conference |
The 2008 Region Ten conference was held Saturday, 03 MAY at the Grange hall in Woodland, WA. Many thanks to John, NNN0TKR, for arranging the use of the hall and being such a gracious host. Much was discussed this year. Frankly there was so much I think it could easily have gone for two days, but AS0 managed somehow to keep things on track in a reasonable fashion. Key topics included ECOM issues; current state of MARS repeaters in the Region and future plans; WinLink (WL2K): who all is involved (it's huge) how to get started, installing the airmail program, where to get information on WL2K, and PackLink: it's interacting capabilities with WinLink; and much more. |
| There were presentations by GCC and GBP on "state of their state". |
| AS0 Twelve talked about the equipment program, what's available, what's not, and encouraged members who are looking for equipment to let him know so he can watch for it. Often he passes up stuff because he is not aware of a desire for it and doesn't want it just sitting around. Computers are becoming rare. Navy is now basically leasing computers rather than buying. Rich will pass up anything that's been partially disabled (such as hard drive removed) if he can't fire it up and see that it works. So, if you want one of these, ask. |

| The presentation on the Region Ten web site was live interactive with the web site, so no PowerPoint file was associated with the presentation. |
| And, of course, there were the awards presentations. There were Certificates of Recognition presented by state directors, Letters of Commendation presented by Region Director, and Region Ten Member of the year. |
