| EEI messages are used to notify a specific group of higher Echelon, including the Pentagon, of disasters, pending disasters, threat to public safety, civil disturbance, and other emergency situations or threats to public well-being. |

| Software |
| Several pieces of software have been developed locally for use by MARS members. They are not a replacement for your skills as a MARS operator. They are intended to aid you in your day-to-day MARS operations. |

available on the Region Ten web site is under consideration of update or removal in favor of the National EEI Generator. For now, use the one on the National web site. Additional software to aid and support your MARS activities is available on the software page of the Region Ten web site. |

| EEI Software developed by NNN0RDO is available for download below. Please read these few important notes first. |
| The ZIP file is 4 MB in size. Depending on your internet connection speed, it could take some time to download. If download time is too long, or your connection keeps dropping the link for some reason due to the time it takes, you can request a copy on CD ROM. Send $1 to cover cost of CD and shipping to myself or RDO and we will send it to you. |
| During install you must be connected to the internet so the install wizard can access some files from the web. These files are very small and take only a couple seconds to get. Most likely you won't even notice it's happening. |
