and
OUTPOST PACKET MESSAGE MANAGER
EXTRACTED FROM CHIEF MARS 091200Z FEB 2012 INFO BCST 06-12
MARS Message maker module for outpost packet message manager:
a
special MARS message maker module has been developed to extend
the functionality of outpost to support Naval and EEI message
creation. Outpost packet message manager is a windows-based packet
message client that lets users send and receive packet messages with
almost any Amateur Radio BBS or terminal node controller (tnc)
personal mail box. To use the MARS message maker, members will need
to download and install outpost packet message manager. The link to
obtain outpost is: http://www.outpostpm.org (all lower case). The
current version of the application is version 2.5.0 build c021.
Installation and configuration instructions are available at the
outpost web site. Since outpost supports ax.25 packet, users will
need to configure outpost with their shortened packet radio call
sign. The current version of MARS message maker is v1.0c071 and may
be downloaded at: http://www.outpostpm.org/mars/ (all lower case)
unzip the marsmm10c071.Zip (or later) file and place the
marsmm.Exe in the outpost program directory.
Users of Windows Vista or Windows 7 should run both outpost and MARS
message maker as administrator. This can be configured from
properties-under compatibility-for both the outpostpm.Exe and
marsmm.Exe files.
If you have a chance, give the program a try. It is a good tool for
drafting MARS messages, including EEIs.
