Equipment Modifications

Requests for modifications to commercially manufactured amateur radio equipment should be made directly to the manufacturer. They require a copy of your MARS license with your request. You may either mail a copy or fax it to them. Be sure to identify the model and serial number and the modification you are looking for. Remember to include your return mailing address and daytime phone number should they need to contact you. You may request information for more than one model at the same time. If you want the information returned by fax, be sure to include your fax number. Most manufacturers can be found on the internet. A Google search can be very useful for finding their web sites.

Requests for manuals or other information on military surplus equipment may be sent to NNN0ASQ. However, the library has little information on post-WW2 equipment.  You might want to check around to see if your State, Region, or Area has a librarian, or a resource for information.

DO NOT SEND request for surplus equipment to ASQ.  That must go to your State, Region, or Area TWELVE.  If you are uncertain check with your state director for your local process.

Another source for manuals and mods info is Mods DK.  If you only need one manual or mod info periodically it is free.  If you need more often they do charge a fee.  Check them out.  As always, you are responsible to make sure the mod or other info is correct for your equipment.  Navy-Marine Corps MARS, Dept of the Navy, and Dept of Defense assume no responsibility for the accuracy, extent of any warnings or procedural cautions or other information supplied, or that the procedure was carried out properly.

You may send a message, or e-mail to NNN0ASQ  to see if we have a manual.  Other questions too.
