Florida State Navy-Marine Corps MARS

DROPPING YOUR 'TANGO'

Congratulations on dropping your 'Tango'!

Once you have met all the training requirements, you will begin the process of dropping your tango from your NAVYMARS callsign.

While the last step in this process is usually serving as NECOS for four times, this may vary depending on a number of factors. When you successfully complete your NECOS requirements however, NNN0GAL will indicate to you that you may now drop the 'Tango' from your callsign. Once so directed and from this point forward, you may use your callsign without the "Tango" suffix.

Take pride in knowing that you have met the requirements in order to become a NAVYMARS operator. Remember however that you have met the MINIMUM requirements and your training does not end here! There is always more that you can learn and more that you can do to become even more proficient as a NAVYMARS operator.

For specific information on what you can do to continue your MARS training, contact NNN0GAL-4. There are NAVYMARS courses available to you and training nets just to name a few. Feel free to ask what you can do for additional NAVYMARS training.

In addition to the additional training, here are a few things that you should also do immediately after you officially drop your 'Tango':
  • Contact NNN0GAL-5 to learn how to set up your Navymars email address.
  • Request the username and password to access the National Navy Mars website secure area.
  • Request the username and password to access the Florida Navy Mars website secure area.
  • Go to the NECOS Availability page on this website and create a necos profile for yourself.
